2017 and WordPress Keeps Updating

Hope the new year is going well.  Wanted to update you that WordPress 4.7.2 available for update and it is a security update.  That means a bit more important to update to that new version.

Before undertaking any WordPress update, or plugin update for that matter, make sure to have your site backed up.  If you are hosted with Zipcon, then the site is backed up by the host.  Lower cost alternatives usually make you backup your site yourself.

Of course, you remember the admonition that one should update plugins prior to updating WordPress and even then, you may need to update plugins after the update too.  Also, make sure to check the site after any updates to be sure everything turned out ok.
